Combined Space and Ground Combat

When combining Space and Ground combat, both forms of combat follow their own rules within their scale, though they may interact with each other. Each form of combat will be explained individually, but a high-level overview as well as some specific interactions between the two is provided here. Beginning combined combat requires a Turn Order roll that is then separated into a Space Turn Order and Ground Turn Order.

Once both Turn Order lists are constructed. The cycle progresses in the following order. First, all characters involved in Space Combat move and perform Maneuvers in reverse Turn Order. This is referred to as the Space Movement Phase. Second, characters involved in Space Combat make attack rolls in Turn Order as normal. This is referred to as the Space Attacking Phase. Finally, all characters involved in Ground Combat perform their entire turn in Turn Order. Once all characters in Ground Combat have completed their turn (or opted out of performing any additional actions) a new cycle starts. This process is summarized with additional details in the Figure: Turn Order Progression through a Cycle.
